Women's Small Business Month Spotlight: Natalia Green, Emerald Studio

For National Women’s Small Business Month, we are proud to spotlight Natalia Green, the owner of Emerald Studio, an interior design firm based in Philadelphia. Natalia brings over a decade of industry experience, providing high-end design services to clients across Pennsylvania and South Carolina.

Natalia’s passion for interior design began early, as she grew up visiting job sites with her father, a contractor. This hands-on experience laid the foundation for her design career. After earning her Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from Bowling Green State University, Natalia worked for a high-end design firm in Washington, D.C. She eventually returned to Philadelphia to be closer to family, and it was here that she took the leap and founded Emerald Studio.

At Emerald Studio, Natalia offers a range of services to meet her clients’ diverse needs:

  • Full-Service Interior Design: Natalia manages projects from concept through completion, overseeing every detail from design and procurement to installation and styling. Her clients get to experience the joy of a true “reveal” of their newly transformed spaces.

  • Virtual Design: Available nationwide, this service allows clients to receive a personalized design digitally, based on their style, measurements, and budget. Natalia provides all the tools and guidance needed for clients to implement the design at their own pace.

  • Designer By Your Side: For those who just need a little extra help with decision-making, Natalia offers consultations to guide clients through design choices, whether it’s selecting paint colors or finalizing a layout.

Natalia recently obtained her general contractor’s license, a significant milestone that sets her apart in the industry. Many designers are limited to the creative aspects of a project, but Natalia can oversee the entire process, coordinating with builders, plumbers, and other professionals to bring her designs to life. She has built a trusted network of industry experts and is growing her in-house team to expand the services Emerald Studio can offer.

In addition to running her design firm, Natalia owns Emerald Archives, a unique venture where she curates one-of-a-kind pieces from antique stores and estate sales, sourcing distinctive items for her clients’ homes. This dedication to finding timeless pieces adds another layer of personalization to her work.

Her clients rave about her ability to transform spaces with her signature touch, with many proudly saying their homes have been “Natalia-ized.” This unique combination of personalized design and her eye for sourcing special pieces ensures each space she works on feels like a true reflection of its owner.

Currently working out of her home office, Natalia plans to open a physical storefront and warehouse in the Philadelphia area soon, further expanding Emerald Studio’s capabilities. Alongside her growing business, Natalia balances life with her husband Dillon, their two children, Lucy and Wesley, and their beloved Bernadoodle, Fitz—whom she lovingly considers part of their “family of five.”

The name Emerald Studio reflects Natalia’s last name, “Green,” but it also symbolizes her approach to design: fresh, vibrant, and always striving to make her clients’ visions come to life.
